These terms apply when you use shaunmahabeer.com (“the site”) and buy or support anything through it. By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

1. Who we are

2. Products and how you buy them

The site sells and links to:

Prices are shown in US dollars or South African rand, as stated on each product. We may change prices at any time, but a change will not affect an order you have already paid for.

3. Digital products

When you buy a PDF or e-book from this site, you receive a licence for your own personal use. You may not share, resell, upload or otherwise distribute the file, or copy it for others, without written permission.

If a download is faulty or you cannot access it, email us and we will either send a replacement or refund you, in line with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

4. Refunds and cancellations

Refunds for Amazon orders follow Amazon’s returns policy. No refunds apply to Paystack digital product purchases. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008.

5. Intellectual property

All text, photographs, cover designs, drawings, recipes, podcast content and other material on the site is owned by Shaun Mahabeer, unless stated otherwise. You may share links to the site and quote short passages with credit. You may not copy, reproduce, republish or sell site content without written permission.

6. Donations and fundraisers

Donations are voluntary gifts to support Shaun’s writing, art and travel, including the student debt fundraiser on BackABuddy. Donations are not purchases of a product or service, and we do not offer refunds on them unless stated otherwise or required by law.

7. Affiliate links

Some links on this site, including the Temu and Exness links, are affiliate links. If you use them, Shaun may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links do not change the price you pay, and we only recommend products we believe are worth a look.

8. Financial information and trading

Nothing on this site is financial, investment or trading advice. Trading and investing, including with the Exness account linked on this site, carries a real risk of losing money. Do your own research and seek independent advice before you act. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

9. Recipes and health

The recipes in Shaun Eats are shared for general interest. Check ingredients against any allergies or dietary needs before cooking, and speak to a health professional about any specific health concern.

10. Links to other sites

The site links to third-party sites, including Amazon, Paystack, Temu, PayPal and social media platforms. We are not responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Check their terms before you use them.

11. Acceptable use

Please do not use the site to send spam, try to access areas you are not authorised to use, interfere with how the site works, or post or send anything unlawful.

12. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The site is provided “as is”. We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that it is complete or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they were last changed. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of South Africa, without limiting any consumer right to use a different forum that the law provides.
